An artificial "Swim with the Tuna" commercial facility proposed for the waters off Kangaroo Island is entirely inconsistent with the region’s clean and green image and should be immediately rejected.
The Friends of KI support calls by local businesses and environmental groups to scrap the proposed Swim with the Tuna development, which threatens the Island’s natural heritage and pristine environment and jeopardises existing ecosystems.

The Friends of Kangaroo Island are passionate about developing the Island’s world-renowned "clean and green" image and upholding the region’s brand promise as a "wild and welcoming natural destination".
If you care about Kangaroo Island’s pristine environment and global reputation as a natural wonder, become a supporter of the Friends of KI.

22 March, 2012 - SWT UPDATE
Prior to Xmas PIRSA advised the original application for a tuna aquaculture lease in the vicinity of Point Morrison had been withdrawn.
In a letter dated March 6th 2012 PIRSA confirmed “the applicant is deciding on a new location".
We believe the proposed site is between Point Morrison and Ballast Head.
At this time no new application is before PIRSA. When an application is received it will be advertised in The Islander, Advertiser, and the PIRSA website. We will also keep you up to date on our own SWT website.
Our thanks again for your interest and support
